Ι am surprised that this treasure was not stolen by Great Britain alongside the PARTHENON Sculptures

Yet another example that classical and even pre-classical Western and ancient Middle Eastern man was as capable as men of the Age of Science Discovery (excluding the rise of pseudo-science) and advanced in Inventive Mechanical Technology: designed and engineered computer mechanisms, of precision made components.

Certain developed and enlightened ancient peoples understood more, and had advanced farther than mainstream historians generally are willing to acknowledge. Because the apparently overlook ancient historians, and cast the valuable record of the Bible aside. Actually, men and women were most probably more intelligent than the today. And just as inventive and creative, if not more so.

The Abram of the Bible was is reported to have been a sort of scientist of his day, skilled observer of the heavens and most learned.

Despite secular dogma, man (woman beside) had not ascended from the shadowed primitive forest, but actually has descended from the enlightened civilized Garden: civilization-wise, decline from lofty fusion metal of an elevated golden head era, to today's federated, base unified, though fragmented feet of clay and iron, formational. (Daniel 2:)

What other brilliant mechanical wonders and inventive genius, revealed great insights into true fields of Science, have been lost to history's archives, perhaps destroyed. Works lain undiscovered, sunken beneath ancient seas or buried under forgotten lands? Lost mechanical discoveries, once written-down; or brilliant scientific insights, detailed illustrated in ancient parchments, inscribed on clay tablets, rolled-up in forgotten scrolls, or bound in treasured books, old knowledge lost to the vicissitude of time's turbulent ages?

It's certainly true that our cognitive faculties aren't just a recent phenomenon but date back quite a bit. I'm certain people ten thousands of years ago were about as clever as we are. What has definitely increased over time is cultural progress. I do not believe in an overly glorified "golden" past and a steady degeneration ending in the Apocalypse. Accumulation of knowledge is what brought us where we are - and that is true all over the world, not just for your selected 'chosen people'.

Well sucellos, what you or I, or anyone else believes does not reshape the past (though one can distort and edit it to fit a preferred narrative, like the nihilist neo-Marxists), or foretell the future. But real perspective into yesterday's past, can impart insight into tomorrow's future. The Law of History — Something Sir Winston Churchill understood: so his great insights, and dire warnings, about the menace in rise of tyrannical Germanic militarism. (By too many, at the time, too much dismissed.)

The truth of antiquity, as revealed anciently and biblically, would make uncensored history classes exciting, thrilling, and even astonishing, for young and old alike! Further, so much more meaningful! And regarding what is to come, the truth of the past does give insight into the future. — Illuminated by testable divine Revelation: Prophecy, "Tomorrows news reported today". So the World Imperial Image, down history's timeline, ending in "feet part of iron and part of clay" — Dan. 2:33 (KJV).

Ancient writings are always a product of their time and culture. Archaeological study of such writings necessarily includes the separation of history and myth. I recently read something about assyriology and the legends of ancient kings like Gilgamesh. I learnt that aside from various issues with literal translation, assyriologists also have to deal with the fact that apparently Sumerians and Akkadians loved symbolism, word plays and multi-layered meanings. Also older stories were often rewritten to fit the narrative of the new king, make them the sons of legendary kings to validate their claim to power. Some of those stories and a lot of the symbolism also influenced and found their way into what is today the Bible (among others). Even the Bible has seen several translations and many interpretations! By quoting from it as if it was universally and unequivocally true, you're completely ignoring all that vast and multicultural historical context, is all I'm saying.

I don’t dispute much of the interesting text you write, except when you apply it to the canon Bible. Though it too contains meaningful “symbolism” (Daniel & Revelation, dramatic examples), purposeful “word plays” (as in portions of high-level poetry), and profound “multi-layered
                      [ as well as multi-dimensional ] meanings”.

Ah, the Assyrians, master warriors! Their legendary cruelty, unimaginably bestial, so greatly were they feared. Their savagery paradoxically only matched by phases of high civilization. And culture. Their stone sculptures of the neo-Assyrian Empire, for example, have long struck me as superbly masterful, skillfull of artful realism! O, those faces looking down from time! Their major cities seem to have been well laid-out, spacious of plazas, and magnificent of architectural edifices.

The Assyrian paradox, frightful aspect not unseen in the modern world!

And intimately related, the Bible’s ancient prophecies, now fulfilled (and being fulfilled) – a major proof of divine origin, and authentic claim of Testaments: Author of Whom, of course, used men as scribes, whom He inspired, some lowly some great!Like Abraham. – All educated.

From different ages and eras (each writer reflecting authentic aspects of his unique time period: linguistic, cultural, historical, etc. – yet Crown-Jewel work remained remarkable consistent from Genesis to Revelation. Strongly indicating a common Supreme AUTHOR of timeless Existence.

Archaeology, which you discuss, thus far fully substantiates Scriptural accounts, narratives and history. Even indicates or suggests accuracy in supernaturally-related events: as when a united mankind in Plain of Shiner, traceable century of the past, attempted dangerous mega World Government-Project, post-Flood age, under brutal megalomaniac warrior-tyrant. –

Thence, onset of massive long-duration drought, real-world evidence come to light, which probably compelled the suddenly multi-lingual populace of races (depending on their patriarchal fathers, like Asshur “second son of Shem”) to separate and migrate to far-flung geographies, globally. – Just as written.

SCIENCE too, reveals a Mighty Creator and Law-Giver. And more… To the unbiased and open-minded, sincerely seeking to know the truth of origins.

Yes, even vaunted scientists of recent times, suggest timidly in a whisper, or have boldly acknowledged what their insight and honest understanding reveals – as with Abram anciently to Ur, or Isaac Newton more recently to the West, among other enlightened luminaries of Science: this Grand Creation must have been wrought by Mindful-Intention, and Purposed by deliberate-Design. Men un-corrupted by pervasive and unsubstantiated “Theory” of origins. One not free from criticism by its own adherents. (Something conveniently overlooked by its devoted laymen and lay-women followers.)

Scripture actually does not clash, nor is it opposed to true Science. – In fact points of real-Science were written therein anciently, though hidden from mankind for millennia (in cases, perhaps forgotten from antiquity).

Scientific truths that could have been glimpsed in advance, scattered through books of the Bible!

Pseudo-science–its pontificated origins and entangling web of conjectures–is opposed to, and in conflict with Scripture.

Seems common for skeptics to invert what influenced what or who. “O no, it cannot be” – it MUST NOT BE – “that educated or scholarly scribes of Scripture influenced other societies around them”. – Like Abram of science center Ur of the Chaldees (though just an enlightened scholar who saw the true-Creator in the Law-governed heavens, back then), or Daniel, who rose to high statesman or counselor office in both the neo-Babylonian and Medio-Persian World Empires!

Chaldean mathematics, if not their astronomy, appears to have been more advanced than ours! Abram was evidently a learned mathematician in ancient science center of Ur! (Though tainted with mind-darkening superstition, as much later was to befall Europe, in a different form millennia later, until the mind-opening Renaissance, secular Italian then Christian Protestant.)

The Bible has been, and certainly is interpreted many ways. Its deliberate compositional structure and style leaves swaths of its text open to mis-interpretation (as in meaning of symbols, metaphors and so on). Like one famously taught: The Bible can be compared to a jigsaw puzzle, separated into a certain number of pieces (verse upon verse, a little here and a little there...) – puzzle pieces that, when placed-together rightly, complete a comprehensible PICTURE – but they only fit-together one way. Not 20 different ways.

But once pieced-together, as the Maker intended, common Threads revealed – and Singular Theme shines!

The “vast and multicultural historical context” read in the Bible, written through many centuries, greater than a Millennium's span, provide even more evidence of its remarkable historicity and unassailable accuracy!

What a grandiloquent accumulation of nonsense. Your preaching doesn't hide that your notions of the scientific methods and its conclusions are confused and clueless. Substituting the terms 'science' and 'faith' seems to be the new fad among bigots... anyway I really should stop feeding it...

Well, what one cannot well read, or refuses to understand, can seem nonsensical, "confused and clueless" (if not on separate page). ~ If "preaching" heard, then not my intention was, as qualified I am not. (My explanatory reply, I guess, perhaps excessive ... ) ~ Per-usual, the hostile skeptic resorts to name-calling. One step down from "racist", when labelled a bigot. (But true, I am not into abhorrent Democrat divisive tribalism or deranged revolting Leftist multiculturalism.)

Neo-Marxists favorite tactic, weaponized use of language, or should I say abuse of language, perversion of words, twisted into intimidating clubs, or condensed-down and hurled-out as injurious rocks, threatening personal harm by false accusations. Its disgusting! The dilution of true definitions of real meaningful English.

                                Sovietization of English!

Demonstrating once again, that the hardcore Left corrupts everything its cankerous hand touches! Culture, medicine, even science, and so on.

What should actually not be fed, is the voracious writhing neo-Marxist beast of the rampaging Radical Left, lest that roused brutal monster, eventually consumes the children who feed it, imagining they will be spared its insatiable apatite for intrusive tyrannical power! – The children of the French Revolution, wound-up being devoured by its hideous unleashed terror. (That is if the boot fits.)

                                Oops, was I preaching again?

                        Abraham was a goatherder.
The garden of Eden was an area in southwestern Turkey where a hunter gatherer culture built the first brewery at Gobekli Tepi, held big parties and invented gods.

That is the warped Hollywood version; ignorant and dismissive secular historian's version; or stereotypical mainstream Christian version. — But it is not the historical truth. ...

As for the sprawling land of the Garden of Eden, look to the Levant where Israel thrives in its cradle homeland, crowned in area of Jerusalem, and have concept where its glorious lush beauty once adorned scenic coast land, gorgeous with valleys and magnificent of hills (pre-Flood geography), Spring-morning of man's awesome existence, on catastrophically buried remains of catastrophe destroyed ancient prehistoric past.

True enough, many "invented gods", but kaleidoscope World of Life—amidst Sun family of desolate and ruined worlds—and brilliant Universe of limitless-Power, though damaged and aged, luminous declares the Ruling God of Heaven!

( Correction: Yes, settled in the Levant, as precious-metal rich, prosperous and prominent man, he had wealth of herds, probably including goats. In Ur of the Chaldees, of Babylonian-relation, as apparent scholar, he observed and evidently studied, and certainly pondered the heavens. But unlike to many of today's astronomers, he logically understood what the magnificent ordered and structured, law-governed Universe so plainly reflects. And as today, the populace of Ur was not to happy about his insightful persuasions!

So, a man ahead of his times, probably not without impressive reputation, was apparently compelled to migrate out with his family. More accurately, called forth to greater monumental destiny! Whose offspring would become as innumerable as the stars of the sky, whose complex interactions and recurring motions, he so carefully observed and studied. )

The myth obviously didn't happen. Paolo Lithique was joking.

But you seem not to get the joke of superstition - it is made up.

If humor expressed, then not I guess.

But what arrogant certainty you express, asserting that the revealed Judeo-Christian account of the origin of the Universe, and man's appearance on Earth, is "myth" and "superstition".

However, fanciful speculation about man's unproven evolutionary ascendency, and further back, fantastical cosmogony of a "Multiverse" of unending universe experiments (a speculative attempt to circumvent the disturbing implications of a sudden and dramatic Spacetime BEGINNING?), foaming, bubbling and popping-out endless universes. Then at some "miraculous" point in the impersonal, unexplained eternal Multiverse medium, of endless mindless continuum, the winning formula was "discovered" by unintelligence, and blind-force produced, or won the elemental-spatial lottery, winning numbers struck in time, prize of a Law-Governed and Fine-Tuned Created Universe — one miraculously Made for LIFE: "Bang!" — into rotating view, a perfectly-wrought Biosphere Earth for man's historical Age-existence!

O, but the mainstream taught, tenuous and far-flung, extrapolated secular-framed diorama of origins cannot be viewed as "myth", or labelled "superstition", but declared as unquestionable "science" (so called), proven and settled beyond dispute.

Educated and insightful men have dismantled it, flawed piece by flimsy piece. — Thus revealing Thoughtful Intentionality and Mindful-Purpose: spotlighting Signature evidence of Creation.

                                  That's ridiculous.

As for Abraham: practically all secular scholars agree that he wasn't even a person, but rather an amalgam of various cultural stories put together into one character.

The Garden of Eden is similarly an amalgam of various prehistoric oral traditions with common elements merged into a single story, and even if it has roots more in one than another and a specific religious location we don't know even close to enough give a spot to it (if that's even the nature of it), and it's absolute arrogance to act like we know.

Don't make up stuff simply for the arrogant pleasure of thinking you know more.

As for the myth, that obviously didn't happen, so that too could be unmentioned. And as for the rest "What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence."

Yikes, did you have nothing to say on facts!?

“For whereas the Egyptians were formerly addicted to different customs, and despised one another's sacred and accustomed rites, and were very angry one with another on that account, Abram conferred with each of them [ Genesis recorded sojourn in Egypt, time of great draught ], and, confuting the reasonings they made use of, every one for their own practices, demonstrated that such reasonings were vain and void of truth: whereupon he was admired by them in those conferences as a very wise man, and one of great sagacity, when he discoursed on any subject he undertook; and this not only in understanding it, but in persuading other men also to assent to him. He communicated to them arithmetic, and delivered to them the science of astronomy; for before Abram came into Egypt they were unacquainted with those parts of learning; for that science came from the Chaldeans into Egypt, and from thence to the Greeks also.”

Remember, this was written about 100 A.D. — When many ancient historical works may have still been extant (though terrible earlier loss to the classical world, of literary treasures held in the great Library of Alexandria, circa 48 B.C., Creaser and Cleopatra, if not actually survived for a time, by a second library), like narratives, chronicles and histories of ancient historians (Babylonian, Egyptian, and later Grecian, for example). So if the great Jewish historian had not related his narrative accounts faithfully, to the sprawling unified world of the Roman Empire, you can be sure one or more learned scholars would have called him out on any such falsehoods or inaccuracies! (Which might have proved disastrous for him personally.)

That would include scholars from Egypt and Greece!

Abraham was a scholar, student of the heavens, in science-advanced Ur, land of the Chaldees: the later Neo-Babylonian Empire, embodied the elevated Head of Gold! — Quite a descent through Silver Medio-Persian era, Bronze Greco-Macedonian age, down Iron Rome's divided legs, reemergent imperial power in Europa, to fragmented and federated brutal iron and miry clay, of final geopolitical manifestation!
